Do an online search for the following positions in your city/county.

  1. Identify Leaders: Search for these roles in your city/county to find out who is in the position and scan recent news to get a sense of what they have accomplished recently:
  1. Mayor (Elected)
  2. City Attorney (Elected)
  3. District Attorney (Elected)
  4. Sheriff (Elected)
  5. Police Chief (Appointed)
  6. Police Commission President (Appointed)
  7. Police Officer Association President (Appointed)
  8. Chief/Lead Public Defender (Appointed)
  9. Judges (Elected/Appointed)
  10. City Council Members (Elected)
  1. New Learnings: After doing online searches, how would you say they impact your community? Are there critical issues that will be on your ballot? How has this research informed how you will vote in upcoming local elections?
  1. Stay Updated: Set news alerts for these officials to monitor ongoing news.
